A while back Pascal posted photos of a way he had come up with to hang pictures. I thought it was really clever, asked him to send plans, and he did. My friend Mark did the installation (because he’s really good at stuff like this and I’m afraid of the drill).
On my birthday I posted a message asking Tumblr friends to send me prints for the wall. And they did!
Starting with the top row reading left to right:
Photo I took of Michelle* | John | Shawn | Mine
Nathan (2) | Lou | Tzeko | Brenna (2)
I love it!
*that is my best friend Michelle who still owes me a print!
So, this made me blush! Be sure to check out what AG is doing. It’s like getting to visit the Philippines without needing a passport. Also, he takes me to all of the local places I probably couldn’t find.
Here’s a fine example of AG’s people-watching skills.
A good advice to all photographers:
GET LOST IN THE LENS!*
*or viewfinder if you want to be technical about it.

Amy is one of the folks here on tumblr whose work I look forward to seeing in my dashboard. She often photographs in Southern States (if my U.S. geography is serving me right) which is a part of the U.S. I have never been to and it is also the place I am least familiar with.
I like seeing a place through a photographer’s eyes. It may not be the gritty hardcore street photography I’m used to seeing but I appreciate and somewhat am allured to the simplicity of the place (most notably the French Lick).
Check out her work here

I’d love to Amy. Feel free to pick the specific picture if you’d like.
This is so much fun! If you all don’t mind to do the picking, part of what I think will be neat is seeing what you send. Surprise me!
Thank you!

Check
I’m giddy! In no small part because I got the photo wall design from Pascal in the first place.

I’m in too! Just don’t put mine close to Bel’s. :)
So cool! Yay, Hoosiers!

Count me in!
Yay! I’m so excited!
Hey, Tumblr pals!
You know what I really want for my birthday? Prints of your awesome work to put on the photo wall I’m planning. If you care to send me something, send me a message and I’ll get you my address.
This could be the best birthday ever!
Camera Stores
nycshawnphotos replied to your photo:This is not a good picture, but it is of a great…
Awesome, Amy. Weren’t you the one that mentioned Roberts in Bloomington?
Hi, Shawn!
I’m sure I’ve mentioned Roberts. The Bloomington store closed a while back, but the Indianapolis stores are still going strong. I drop by the downtown store nearly every time I’m in Indianapolis (though that isn’t often).
clusterpod said: I want to move from my F2 to a F3HP. Would you recommend it?
I haven’t shot the F2 so I can’t compare them, but I really love the F3HP. I can’t think of anything about it that I don’t like. I haven’t had mine long, but all reports are that they are very reliable.
Would you other F3HP users care to weigh in?
Another List of Tumblrs I Like
Today I’m recommending Clusterpod. Thanks for posting the kookaburras and all of these other beautiful bird and dragonfly photos!
I’m still crushing on Tumblrs in the list I made last week and these fine blogs (note: this is not a complete list of my Tumblr love):
Film Is God
Fun interactive projects and a chance to find other people who like film.
Wallography
Great street shooting.
I Love Charts
Because I do.
Dave Lam
I think of him as the camera guy, though I’m not sure he’s still finding good homes for used cameras.
Daniel Holter
He’s so freakin’ cool and smart and funny. I hope his bride doesn’t mind my ginormous tumblr crush.
My Mom Reviews My Photos
Koala hats and a dog-based review system? How could I not love this?
Mostly Film Some Digital
Go Hoosiers! It’s not just about the Indiana University connection we share, though.
My BFFs Are on Tumblr!
Two of my very best friends are getting started on Tumblr! This makes me happier than it probably should.
I like what’s going on here
Apparently I do, because these are my current Tumblr crushes (besides Wiseash):
Clusterpod
I survived the spiders, but I LOVE the dragonflies. This is work I’ll never do, but I’m completely fascinated.
Futureman John Carleton
He had me at “I think I’m gonna hurl”
Jacques of All Trades
makes me want to go back to DC. Great sign pics from the rally Saturday. (I also want to sit down and talk school reform with him.)
La Vie Belem
We should get coffee.
Pete
I love the new and improved rudenasty. Pete is taking a lot more pictures and I’m enjoying seeing his work develop (unintended photo pun).
The Way I See It
I suspect that Ava Weintraub doesn’t even know what a rut is. I love the variety of her subject matter and technique.
The Photographist
Chris does beautiful work. He’s also very nice.
…and so many more! I’ll try to do this again soon.
Because She's Awesome
Last week Ms. Wiseash recommended me for Tumblr Tuesday. It was so much fun seeing new people and following so many of them back - there’s all of this great new stuff in my dashboard every day!
I’m not just paying back the favor - I like what she’s doing over there on http://wiseash.tumblr.com. Go visit Ash’s blog and see NYC (and other places) through her lens!
Some Wiseash went and recommended me...
Mystery solved! I had several emails all in a row - new people following my tumblr. I couldn’t imagine where this was coming from and then I saw that Ms. Wiseash herself recommended me and posted a really nice note. She really made my day!
Check her out. She’s based in New York, but travels the world. In spite of my jealousy over that last bit, I’m a fan! Very conversational blog with lots of great stuff to see.
